I am so impressed you were able to contribute to FitNesse. I’m struggling today just to figure out how we migrate to using Slim, which Uncle Bob recommends we do. I have no idea, and can’t even figure out where to start. So I admire your courage in actually writing unit tests and new code for it!

Great stuff, Marisa. I commend you for jumping in there and contributing to FitNesse. Keep it up and, who knows, maybe you’ll end up with your own book! You certainly have the right mentors for it.

I love that you wrote a test, and it passed before you wrote code. That’s an “Aha” moment of great proportions. I think it’s great that you had the balls to contribute to an open source project at all. How many of our buds from Ed can say that they’ve done that? Oh, and your change fulfilled a need. It wasn’t just some whimsical change because you could.

Congrats on contributing code to an open source project! Interesting to read how someone who’s not primary a developer experience TDD and refactoring. Great story!
